Danielle S. Russell, CAE spends her days working in the Not-for-Profit sector supporting volunteer leaders of Trade and Professional Associations. Before entering the Association Industry in 2008, Ms. Russell worked as a Political Advisor to Ontario’s Minister of Municipal Affairs [Note: this blog is not intended as a political forum].

In 2015, Ms. Russell found herself burned out, having changed jobs, completed her designation, and spread herself thin serving on several boards and committees – she instituted The Year of Sloth, and found focus and better sense of balance and priorities. Two years later she followed the same pattern of paring back to find what is truly important – this time shedding 70lbs of body weight and over half of her possessions.

Ms. Russell is currently an active Volunteer with both the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) and the Wilfrid Laurier University Alumni Association (WLUAA); she is also an avid gardener, meal-prep’er, visual artist and writer.
